The Search for Rachel, a father's journal

Monday, May 1 through Sunday, May 7

THE INSIDER segment on Rachel did not air this week. Based on the promos for next week, it won't be on then either. I will try and find out when it is scheduled.

A M.U.S.T seminar is scheduled for next Thursday, May 18, at the Round Rock Christian Academy. The beginner's seminar is free and will begin at 6:30 p.m. An advanced seminar is scheduled for the following Thursday, May 25, at 6:30 p.m. More information is available at www.rachelalert.org/must.

Monday May 8 through Sunday, May 14

The State of Texas will observe Missing Children Day next Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Gayle Smither, mother of murdered Laura Smither and co-founder of the Laura Recovery Center, has been working to establish a state recognized missing children day. The Laura Recovery Center has invited me to attend the event.

There is still no new information on THE INSIDER program's airing of Rachel's story. They may have decided not to air anything because the psychics have not found anything.

Monday, May 15 through Sunday, May 21

Thursday's M.U.S.T. beginner seminar in Round Rock was attended by 35 women and teens. As usual our instructor Deborah Brown did a fantastic job teaching her course on safety awareness and self-defense.

On Sunday Deborah taught both the beginner and advanced M.U.S.T. seminars in Lakeway. The Lakeway Police Department co-sponsored the seminars along with Rachel Alert Network. This class was smaller than the Round Rock seminar.

Monday, May 22 through Wednesday, May 31

This Thursday, May 25, was both National and Texas Missing Children's Day. Laura Recovery Center has been working with the State of Texas to make a state recognized missing children's day. Greg Allen, the father of missing Sabrina Allen, and I attended a ceremony on the steps of the capital in Austin.

Also on Thursday we had an advanced M.U.S.T. seminar at the Round Rock Christian Academy. Around 20 women and teens were shown additional self-defense moves to help them escape from an attacker. The women paired up and practiced the moves.

THE INSIDER segment on Rachel finally aired on Friday night. The segment showed psychic James Von Praagh and his team working on Rachel's case. The best parts of the program were Rachel's story being shown and the display of the two contacts of Williamson County Sheriff's Office and www.rachelcookesearch.org. The story might just reach the right person who submits the lead that will help solve the case.
